With over 100,000 attendees, Anime Expo experienced record breaking attendance this year as the show exponentially grows. The expo is packed with much more than just Anime, it consists of movies, comics, music, books and video games – which is where Ignited’s mobile gaming client gumi Inc. comes into play.
gumi Inc. activated at Anime Expo earlier this month in efforts to showcase their new title, Phantom of the Kill and Virtual Reality experience, Shout Zero, for the first time in the United States. gumi is known for their very popular game, Brave Frontier. Using Anime Expo as a platform to exhibit the two new crossovers for the games, the weekend was filled with much excitement in the South Hall booth. The two game collaborations with Phantom of the Kill include both Japanese Idol band, Dempagumi.inc and Brave Frontier.
This is gumi’s second year activating at the Anime Expo and once again dominated the show floor with engaging entertainment: a rumbling stage, game demos, cosplay and giveaways. The inviting booth could be heard across the hall as Virtual Reality participants “shouted zero” to save their lives as a part of the experience that aligned with the new Phantom of the Kill plot. The booth not only provided ample room for attendees to demo Phantom of the Kill and Brave Frontier but served as entertainment as people watched the Virtual Reality Shout Zero Experience. Furthermore, Dempagumi.inc made a special appearance in the booth Saturday prior to the idol band’s concert in the Main Hall. With these many different experiences, show attendees got a real flavor of the gumi culture.
