Direct competitor Pizza Hut, owned by Yum Brands, however, lags behind without a clear purpose to bolster its marketing positioning, says Bernie Pitzel, creative-in-residence at the Jacobs Agency.

 "'Domino's is the more fun brand now because it's more honest, it's more off-the-cuff and it's more approachable,” Pitzel says. “Pizza Hut seems kind of dated.'"
